?TNG: effect of baryonic processes on weak lensing with IllustrisTNG simulations

We study the effect of baryonic processes on weak lensing (WL) observables with a suite mock WL maps, $\kappa$TNG, based cosmological hydrodynamic simulations IllustrisTNG. quantify effects angular power spectrum, one-point probability distribution function (PDF), and number counts peaks minima. also show redshift evolution effects, which is key to distinguish baryons from fundamental physics such as dark energy, matter, massive neutrinos. find that reduce small-scale power, suppress tails PDF, peak minimum counts, change total compare our results existing semi-analytic models simulations, discuss source discrepancies. The $\kappa$TNG includes 10,000 realisations $5 \times 5 \, \mathrm{deg}^2$ maps for 40 redshifts up $z_s = 2.6$, well covering range interest upcoming surveys. produce $\kappa$TNG-Dark generated corresponding matter only IllustrisTNG simulations. Our are suitable developing analytic incorporate baryons, but particularly useful studies rely mass non-Gaussian statistics machine learning convolutional neural networks. publicly available at Columbia Lensing (http://columbialensing.org).
